The menu leans heavily into classic comfort dishes, and honestly, that’s where this restaurant shines. The spaghetti is a standout if you’re craving something hearty and filling. It’s the kind of dish that reminds you of home-simple, warm, and satisfying. On the other hand, if you’re more in the mood for something quick and classic, the cheeseburger and fries hit the spot. The burger comes out juicy and well-seasoned, paired with crispy fries that are hard to stop picking at.

One dish that really captures the soul of Mama’s Country Cooking & Grill is the meatloaf plate. It’s rich, flavorful, and feels like it’s been made with care rather than rushed out of the kitchen. This is the type of meal that keeps regulars coming back, and it’s easy to see why when you take that first bite.

What customers say?

“ I've only eaten breakfast from here, but I've enjoyed it so much I hardly ever take pictures...I'm too busy eating! There's usually a line but the line moves pretty fast. You can order omelettes, breakfast sandwiches made to order or a simple breakfast plate. My favorite order is the breakfast grit cup (comes with meat, eggs, and cheese) since it's easy to eat in the car, which is where you eat since seating inside is very limited. Oh, and this place is in a service/gas station. While it doesn't take anything away from the taste of the food, keep this mind if you're wanting a fine dining experience...this ain't it. Don't forget to pay at the register in the front of the store. ”

“ Was turned on to the egg, cheese and sausage biscuit last month. Best biscuit I've had since grandma passed in 1993. It brought a tear to my eye upon first bite! ”

“ This review has been edited after meeting Mama. Tonight I had the pleasure of meeting Mama Sue, Jennifer & Shan. I can vouch why this place has the most amazing food ever!!! When you cook from your heart, it shows. I have never been so happy in front of ladies yelling "TAKE MY MONEY PLEASE". This is the best group of smiles and laughter.. go in the evening, you'll understand the happiness and kindness that I'm talking about. Easy part of the list. Things to complain about: 1. 2. 3. 99. Parking lot is sometimes packed because this food is so dadgum goooooooood Now, let's talk serious. Have I ever told you that I love good food?? Well.... To put that into perspective, manna from the heavens.... I'll have something to complain about. HOWEVER this place. I've never complained at all... That includes the time I tripped while running to my car before I drove over there. (Not on Mama's property. I'm clumsy) Everytime I go [and I warn each and every Mama's Country virgins] on the first time you go, be prepared. There's something magical in the air, in the food, in the smile of everyone working here. Let me explain, have you ever had your socks knocked off? It won't compare to this. Every won the multi-million dollar power ball? Still nowhere near this food. Have you ever had an out of body experience returned to your body and lead an entire world to the Lord & Savior?? Now my friends, we are getting close. Breakfast items: bacon egg & cheese sandwich. Anything else on the menu. (With all normal disclaimers, I haven't tried the catfish..... And this is during the mass exodus of information on said catfish. Today, I bet 48,519,677 folks told me about how amazing the catfish is (consistently is), that's on this one visit. FOLKS LOVE THE CATFISH (just a hint) I went on the sad advice of the millions about the "redheaded step child" spaghetti. OMG. Amazing.. best ever!! I am going to end by saying "Mama, keep up this beautiful work." All of your items: Amazing All of your folks: Amazing But please, all 2 more parking spaces for your 7 quadrillion customers. They're there for a reason. *They are quite homeless friendly. ”

“ Can't beat breakfast from here. Eggs and hash browns are all cooked to order. Grits are the best around. Meat options are tremendous; sausage patties, conechuh sausage, bacon, pork chop, steak, chicken. . . Biscuits and gravy all homemade and there is plain or sausage gravy. Lunch is just as good!! ”

- Kristol Skipper -

“ That was without a doubt , not even close the best smoked sausage biscuit I’ve ever eaten in my life. And I’m 70 years old. Biscuit perfect and tasty and so was the sausage. I got one wing just to try them out. Taste ok but tiny tiny piece of chicken wing. My thumb was bigger. It’s an old service station. Still sells gas and the store is a hole in the wall if I ever saw one but they got the food together. I’ll be back if I’m ever in the area ”

- Joseph Montalto -

“ This is a real good place to get you some nicely priced home cooked food ”

- Devonta Rips -

“ Inside the gas station but it was good! Great service! ”

- MzKimeya -

“ I love their bacon, BLT sandwiches and this is a new establishment and I would like to see it grow special in the neighborhood here on the West side. We need more of these. Southnorth and East in Birmingham, Alabama has to the cooks that cook in the morning very professional quality. What brings us together? ”
